The resurrection… That has been the theme I have been hearing and talking about so much over the past week. The one thing that grounds and proves the Faith of those who believe in Jesus Christ as The Way, The Truth, and The Life (John 14:6), is the resurrection. The one thing that supports and holds up the validity of our Faith in Jesus as the only door (John 10:7) and pathway (Matthew 7:13-14) to reconciliation with God is the resurrection. I always say and hear that faith that can be proven with what we can see is not real faith. But in the case of our Christian Faith, that theory sort of falters. Of every path, prophet, and promise claiming to lead men to God, only one has physical, tangible, or rather intangible, evidence of the empty tomb. So my Faith is really not so hard to question. The empty tomb is fact.
But in this week’s passage we find that the empty tomb is much more than simple proof for Christ’s deity. It is proof for His sovereignty as well. When He rose from the dead, He did much more than prove He was the true, chosen Son of God. He did more than meet with His friends to encourage them and give them instructions. He went further than just sending down The Holy Spirit from Heaven (Which is pretty awesome on its own!). But what He also did was to take back all authority on earth from the ruler of this world. In doing so, He gave all of us who trust in His name power over all the power of the ruler of this world as well!
The resurrection does much! This week, I want the magnitude of it to point us all to the victory we have in Jesus! Walk in it by staying closely nestled in the palm of His Hand and shadow of His covering, being molded and guided by both. In His presence and will we have unending victory. Where He is, we never find ourselves defeated, lacking, or ashamed. In HIM we walk favorably with God and others!
Seeking to Grow my Walk with God and Others,
