“No weapon that is formed against you will prosper;
And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their vindication is from Me,” declares the Lord. ~Isaiah 54:17 (NASB)
During His earthly life, God the Father validated Christ by honoring Him with power over every power of the enemy, but most still did not believe. So it is with us as The Body of Christ. Isaiah 54:17 gives us hope and comfort in the fact that as true Servants of The Lord, we can expect to be proved Righteous against every attack and accusation. But Christ later warns us not to rejoice so much in the sweet scent of victory (which can also be used interchangeably in this verse), but in the fact that our names are eternally written in Heaven. (see: Luke 10:20) Any earthly vindication we may chance upon, pales in comparison to what is stored up and waiting in Eternity for those who are tested, proven, and victoriously righteous "Servants of the Lord!"
I think about Christ dying, going INTO Satan's camp, snatching the keys to death, hell, and the grave, then throwing him (Satan) deuces and WALKING OUT! Now THAT'S sweet vindication! So it will be on that day when we are changed in the twinkling of an eye! Even the dead in Christ will rise to be caught up so that the whole world will see that our Righteousness was TRULY of The Lord! THEN our vindication will be sweeter than it has ever been before!
In victory or defeat, keep your eyes firmly fixed on the Author and Finisher of your Faith! He sees all things from the beginning to the end, and vindicates in unmatched form! ;-D
