The Armor of God
"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people." ~Ephesians 6:10-18 (NIV)
Today some of us woke thinking
Oh no it’s Monday again
But the people who ran the Boston marathon today
Had their hearts set out to win
But you never know when the enemy will strike
As tomorrow is not promised
Just watching the news as tears roll down my face
Feeling heartbroken and looking astonished
You've got to stay suited up and be prepared for war
As we fight not against flesh and blood
You see Monday is nothing to fear at all
When the enemy is taking out those that we love
One by one he attempts to strike us down
When he knows we’re not prepared
He lurks around our homes, our jobs, and our schools
Now even marathons and our house of prayer
So don’t ever regret the beginning of a new week
As you see someone else is always worse off than you
Shake that little trail or tribulation that’s holding you down
You've been too blessed to have the Monday blue’s
If God gave you air in your lungs
To breathe just one more day
You should get on your knees and thank Him now
Because it could have been you or I on the news today
Suit up… because life is too short
And it only takes a split second for the enemy to slip in
But I ask that each of you touch and agree
As there is no battle that our Savior cannot win!
So Suit Up! ~ Our Prayers go out to Boston
God Bless,
