My pastor is beginning a new sermon series this coming Sunday entitled, "'EPIC' Are you tired of ordinary? When God writes your story, it's anything but ordinary!"
Not to steal his thunder (as if I ever could...on any planet...in my entire lifetime :), but his sermon title started me thinking about the title of today's blog. If we go through life developing and "evolving" in the same manner that is dictated or patterned by society, we miss out on so much of the extraordinary God desires for us to experience in these earthen vessels. If our life development follows the common way of completing education, learning lessons, gaining experience, pursuing careers, making a family, etc., etc., we "evolve" with no real idea about the true fullness, greatness, and wealth of existence we can enjoy by sharing life, and these pursuits, with The God of the universe. I don't think I started my Salvation wanting to be anything but "saved from hell;" however, life truly has been epic in almost every sense of the word. God's Grace has made ALL the difference between the two.
