“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.”
~James 1:17
This is foundational to know so that we can receive and embrace what The Lord has sent, and not what was devilishly or humanly sent. So let’s look at the three main facets of humanity, and just a few gifts Christ has given us access to!
Physical Gifts:
Healing – “who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness--by whose stripes you were healed.” ~1 Peter 2:24
Provision – “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” ~Matthew 6:33
Companionship –
“He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord.” ~Proverbs 18:22
“And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”” ~1 Peter 4:8
Spiritual Gifts:
Operations of Gifts – “There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:” ~1 Corinthians 12:4-7
Fruit of The Spirit – “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” ~Galatians 5:22-23
Power over Sin, Self, and Satan – “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” ~Philippians 4:13
Eternal Gifts:
Life – “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” ~John 3:16
Rewards – ““And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.”” ~Revelation 22:12
Possessions – “And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life.” ~Matthew 19:29
Freedom from Sorrow and Pain – “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” ~Revelation 21:4
I am overwhelmed and encouraged just by researching and sharing these few verses! What GREAT and MIGHTY promises and Gifts we have received through faith in the work of the resurrection of Christ from the dead! What a blessed walk we can experience with God DAILY!
