"And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?" ~Matthew 6:30 (NLT)
A couple of years ago God's Spirit inspired me to develop the following activity during a period of great stress in my life. It has been on my mind for a few weeks now, along with several in-kind testimonies. We all sometimes find ourselves becoming anxious as a result of life, relationships, dreams, obligations... Yet, as in the passage where our focus verse is found exhorts, Faith should be the "go to" response for Believers in ALL THINGS. And Faith is the opposite of worry. To those who reject worry comes a twofold blessing: Peace and Provision. | A colleague shared this wonderful video with me after he read my "Do TODAY" activity. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. |
A couple of weeks ago our family had a great need. When I say great, I mean great. No one was worried, but we prayed as a family, and I prayed and praised God continuously for ALWAYS providing. I held on to assurance that God's provision, great or small, would manifest faithfully, and perfectly match our need. Two days later God provided. I prayed again and He asked me to give 1/3 of what came in. I gave. Three days later we unexpectedly received provision that was FIVE TIMES what we gave! As we went through the week, there were times that we were tempted to "figure out" what to do about "the day after tomorrow" or "the weekend;" but, we reminded ourselves that tomorrow is not promised. We turned our focus instead on God because He is worthy of trust and praise for TODAY, because TODAY is what He has provided.
This week if you find yourself in a position of need, try to remind yourself that God has been faithful for TODAY, whether the provision is great or small...and with all that you have been given, DO TODAY!
God Bless,
Dawn~
The "Do TODAY" List is a unique "to do" list guaranteed to get your day started with the right perspective each and every day...especially when we find ourselves in need of God's supernatural provision. Set aside 15 minutes in the morning to Do TODAY by doing the following:
1. Acknowledge that what you have today is more than enough...just for today;
2. Purpose and ask for God's help to be a good manager over what you have today, no matter how great or small;
3. Pray for God's blessing to multiply what you have today;
4. Thank God for all of the above;
5. Repeat until your perspective is focused in the positive;
6. Journal your perspective/thoughts on all points above.
Use this activity to Do TODAY. Tomorrow...next month...next year may never come. Don't allow them to steal today's joy and keep you from bringing your best effort and attitude to TODAY!
